Hmm. I’d imagine you’d only find these on Ebay at varying prices.

They’re not in high demand on eBay though, so they’re easy to pick up. Keep in mind that these cards were made in 1985 though. Over 20 years ago. O   o

Comment time. The finish itself feels closest to Streamline so far. Streamline is that plasticky coating on a card without air cushion dimples. Next note. These cards are really thin. Probably the thinnest covered by this blog so far. They even ‘feel’ thin. Like absolut deck. Though those feel heavy for being thin. This stock is light and crisp. If I had access to this stock. I’d use it. The stock basically bends to your will. Crimp it? All good. Just bend it back.

White bordered. Good. Odd back design choice. “You’ve come a long way, baby” written all over. Ew….Well. Got to love the faces though. Pips come in red and blue instead of black. Indices are well done. Court cards are one way faced of old time figures. Neatttt. This deck was well customized. Well decked out. 1 red/1blue joker. Check. Ad card for Virginia Slims. Check. Propaganda is good.

Well. Depends on your exact handling. But the lightness and stock basically contributes as a plus to the execution. And short timeframe. Yay.

-2 decks come in a neat tuck in box. Cool. Virginia Slims. All four aces have VS engraved all over. Red and blue instead of red and black. Cool again. Crisp stock with awesome springs. Cool x3. Fugly back design and finish. Darn. Oh well. What are you going to do. Can’t perfect everything. 1985. 24 years. Good card technology/engineering back then. Someone bring it back please. Another deck for the collection. Promotional propaganda I suppose.

Golden Mcnugget

This blog is running behind schedule due to the other things I have planned during Summer. Like AX out in LA this Thursday through Sunday. I won’t be here of course.

Uh. Probably harder to come by than the more recent Golden Nugget decks ( the good ones ) without tax stamps. According to

The D on this deck’s Ace of Spades means the deck was created in 1962.…? Neat.

No idea what finish it is. But how does the stock add up? I’ll say its thinner than a bicycle card. But strong as ever. Quite notably ‘crisp’. Would be nice to get a new sealed deck that didn’t have a slight bend to it.

Yayy its another white bordered casino back with the casino logo and stuff. Bright colors. This one is red and yellow. Kinda like McDonalds. Haha. I still like it. Its ‘vintage’.__.

What. What are you using Golden Nuggets for cardistry and XCM for. Shame on you. A deck better suited for card magic. Obviously. (also seen in Aaron Fisher’s The Paper Engine : P)

-Took me awhile to actually get one of these off of eBay for a not ridiculous price of 20$. And then it showed up in my mailbox while I was in San Francisco. So then it stayed there eating heat for a few days. WTH. So now I’ve had to let it temperature regulate for a few days before deciding to do a post on it. Ramble ramble ramble . Its been … uhh.. neat using this deck for card magic practice. Thin cards. Nothing made today quite matches this deck. But again, wouldn’t be something I’d use (get to use) everyday. Not at the moment. Good for collecting purposes. Probably not a deck for everyone.
