What are we doing today…Idling around during summer break. Playing pool. Playing piano. Playing cards.

Ebay will run about 3-5$ on average for a piece of casino history. Being the ebay sleuth I am, this is good.

These occasionally show up on Ebay as lowly desired decks. Only idiots like me bid on these things.

So, to me, casino cards from whenever this era was…are quite nice. Superflip feels the same as well. Age means they don’t fan,,but that doesn’t matter. This deck happens to be ‘bee’ branded, so that’s a plus. Stiffer than bicycles. Less slippery than standard bees today. Quite durable. Quite? Very Durable.

Typical standard faro capabilities. Good enough for its age.

Red ‘Bee 92’ back with ‘Hotel Fremont and Casino Las Vegas, NEVADA’ etched inside a hexagon. Can you really call this a back design? Bee back cards favor gambling type sleights, so it fills its purpose.

You pull out an old deck. What kind of sleights are even possible with a beaten and used casino deck. Assuming … its used. It looks clean to me…but that’s something else. You start doing cuts. And a few riffle shuffles. Make sure they’re zarrow shuffles. But no one would think that…they think you’re being stupid. Using casino cards…for magical effects…

-Hotel Fremont! As far as vintage casino cards go. This one is available and has a good price to match it on Ebay. Of course, having white bordered casino cards (nuggets?) favor magic…but at the cost of price…maybe not…Nice box design. Simple Hotel Fremont with 4 suits on the front. Cant’ even tell they’re bee cards from the box. Excellent. Gets a plus in my list. Should go hunt down some more eventually.

If you want casino cards cancelled, they’re basically free. Well at least most generic casino cards are. I was able to get these off of Spinetti’s on Ebay. Pretty sure they still carry a bunch. Uh huh. Cost is 10(10what?) per set of 5, though shipping is $7.50. Buying there gives you some sort of coupon for future purchases though. It was either a discount, or free shipping. I forget.

Its generic Aristocrat stock, of which I am not too big a fan of. I also don’t like how it fans. See what I just did there? <__<  Club Special? Whatever that means… A good deck probably would keep flat longer than a bicycle deck, though thick usually means absorbs dust and sweat for me. Also the fact that its my favorite deck to tear up probably doesn’t help. So if you happen to use them, keep them away from me? Yes?

Quite average. It works. For awhile.

Can you say minimalistic? Text. On a white background. Who needs borders when that’s basically all you’re getting. With text. Red or Blue on White. Of course, I only picked red, since,,,you know,,,my favorite color is red…You could probably stick one of these facedown in a blank deck and get away with it.

Hmm. Imagine if the text wasn’t there. Then you’d have a blank giant fan. But the text is there. So, hope you like seeing lots of L’s , La’s, and broken fragments on top, and a bunch of Ls on the bottom. Its like it spells Lalllllllll….if you were dyslexic or something. Keep in mind that the above photo is using a deck I left alone outside in sunlight for quite some time, and I cropped out my hand.

-Well, I won’t be picking up more of them. Because,,,they’re not super totally awesome. But they’re nice to have. For ripping corners off and in half and whatever other way you want. The jumbo index only helps since you can actually rip off a larger corner for numbered indices.
