Texan Palmetto

Got to be putting up a post every day to get through the stash this summer. Pretty rough estimation.

Name: Texan ’45 “Palmetto”

Date: 5.22.2009

Cost: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○

Being in the US, you’ll probably have some difficulty finding these in retail stores. Which means looking online adds shipping costs. Ebay and members off Decknique are probably the way to go for these. 2-4$ a deck though is decent.

These may or may not still be in production, but the French text on the box suggests they’re quite available…in Canada.

Life/Finish: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○

I wouldn’t know. I’ve only had these open for a few days. They feel like…Arrco Regulations. Arrco? What are those? It says Air Cushion. I’m pretty sure by now that we can all agree that not all air cushions are the same either. Either? watch your grammar. We won’t know for a few days. But if the finish was say, on a bicycle back card, it would be nice. But it’s a bit on the thick side. Stronger than a bicycle card(generic retail store) for sure. Probably wondering what this is based upon. I basically run shuffles, spreads, cuts and other pretty sleights on these decks until I find something that sets them apart. Pretty holistic right? Good enough for me ;–;

More difficult than usual. Not bad if you know what you’re doing. Why are you playing cards with a palmetto deck anyways? Because….they’re not good for magics…?

Back Design: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○

Pretty. Who wouldn’t want palm leaves spinning around and doing flips in their hands. Except,,there aren’t any borders. : ( At least it doesn’t look like a one-way deck. Which is good because it is.

Pirouette: ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○

Taking pictures with my left hand is quite difficult. The only noticeable feature is that 6 pointed star in the middle. Everything else is blurry. Not too fun in terms of eyecandy. Yes, pirouette is an application of back design.

-So, have you noticed yet that I like using the red deck in my photos in these posts. Its because the blue ones get used in card games. Or not at all. Ever. Texan palmetto. uhm. Nothing too special to me. Face cards are standard. Ace of Spades has extra text at the bottom. Joker is the Texan Joker? Good to have in collection. People say they fan nicely…? I think they fan normally.

–Kudos ♪♫
