I spend the last week scouring eBay and this is all I have to show for my work? Haha. What. Whatever. Decided that deck review posts are going to end up on Mon/Wed/Fri for the rest of however long my summer Break lasts. Which is about 5 more weeks. Before going back to HMC hell/purgatory/void.
Name: Trump Playing Cards (Hoyle)

I picked these up through an Ebay dealer. For uhm..1.50$ a deck. Cheap price for a cheap deck.

Made in China. I don’t know how available these are in the US. I’ve never actually seen/heard of them before. Not that they’re anything special.

Life/Finish: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○

Onward with the nothing special. They are plastic coated. Like really plastic coated. Like, they feel more plastic than Absolut Vodka cards or Alladins or Streamlines or whatever. But not as plastic as those clear Bicycle cards. These are still paper based. Its an odd touch though. You won’t get fans or decent spreads or anything. But everything else like Anaconda Dribbles and springs are decent. They also seem to hold bends when crimped/sprung. Not too good.

Faro: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○

It works. But its not a natural start. Once started, the faro continues easily, but also ends…slow. Like choppy slow, but it still falls together.
Back Design: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○

Ooh, a new back design. Available in red and blue. One color. Good centering. Overall good.

Haunted Pack: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○

Threadwork. Plastic makes this deck too heavy to slide ..consistently, easily. You can still pull it off though. It just won’t look good.

-Trump playing cards. What a good name. Too bad the deck doesn’t match up. Made in China…ahhh everyone run away from this deck ahhhh. ahem. A lot of other decks out there trump this deck. Like all the decks out there. Except BCG. Those still are the definition of suck. Not much to say here. Only fans of pure plastic might get a kick out of these cards.

6 more weeks, not 5….i would know cuz it’s 4 more weeks of research + 2 weeks of vacation (but if you’re counting the week that you guys do training, then it’s 5 for you xP)
I have a deck of arrco deck of cards and on the box it says Mr fun cadaco. same design on the box and the back of the cards. I cant find anything on them. when did arrco come out with mr fun cadaco playing cards.
These are nowhere near the quality of Canadian trumps. I tried them. Made in China.
I have a pack of ‘Trump’ brand made by ‘Hoyle Products Inc’ advertising the now defunct Pan Am airline (from which one can deduce the pack was made between 1971 and 1991). This pack clearly states ‘Made in the USA’ . The pack is, as you say, cheap quality. A shame because Hoyle (at the time part of Brown and Bigelow) generally produced fairly decent quality cards, I can only assume that the ‘Trump’ brand was their economy brand. definitely not a brand to seek out!
