Hygrade Pan Set

Another random card from my stash.

Name: Hygrade Pan Set
Date: 6.6.2009

Cost: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
A Pan set picked up for about 6$ off of Ebay. Doubt you’d be able to find another one of these ever.

One Star availability…haha. Pan sets aren’t usually easy to come by because…they’re not typical decks of playing cards. You get J,Q,K,A and like 2- through 6 to make 40 card packs. 8 Sets per box means, this set has… uhh. 640 cards?

Kinda hard to classify. When I picked it up, like all old casino cards, even if they’re new, if they’re opened they clump. Horribly. So I recently picked up fanning powder. And revived them… and now…they’re good for eye candy, but little else. A little of the soft side. Who knows what ‘finish’ they have. The dimples give an air cushion effect, but its like…missing the springyness of a bicycle card, but it still has some snap on the edges. None of this really matters though , .. Unless you come across another set.

Quite easy. Has more ‘plastic’ flow than a bicycle deck, which leans towards the ‘paper’ side.

Available in Red and Blue. I personally like it because it mimics the aristocrat deck that I don’t have yet. : X yay for fake aristocrats. Fake? Well, its good enough for me. Plus I have a whole stash worth, so I can use them for practice.

Not enough snap left to make it worthwhile. Still works, but barely.

-Really Random. Probably what is labeled a ‘one-shot’ back design. Who knows that that little insignia thing in the middle is. I don’t. But having a ‘practice’ card is always worthwhile. What else…The red on the faces isn’t like that bright bicycle red, its more typical to the dark ‘casino’ red. Pan set means 40 cards, so no 8, 9, or 10 spots for you : ( Well. All in all. I’d use these. At least more than some of the other decks I have.

Premium Casino Bee

Figuring out how the gallery works wasn’t fun. Not fun at all. At least it didn’t take forever. I should think about getting a camera with macro : /

‘Name: Premium Casino “Bee”

Cost: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○

3-4$ a Deck. But its probably worth it…

Bee : The stock is obviously thicker than Bicycle.

Usually sold in a 2 pack, or separately in sets…depending on where you buy it from . Still readily available on online stores and Ebay at the moment.

Forget the ‘bee’ decks you can pick up at your grocery or pharmacy or retail store or whatever. This is where its at. Among other ‘bees’… we’ll get to some of those later…The box doesn’t state a finish, just ‘Long Lasting Premium Casino Quality’ Its long lasting for a reason,,,the cards are thick. The deck together is thicker than a bicycle deck by 3-6 cards. Depending on which bicycle deck you’re comparing to and how much that bicycle deck has warped…haha….warped…

Bee faros quite well, but the thickness may be against you in this deck.

Back Design: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○○ ○

The standard bee design. With a white border o   O ! and the Bee logo! In gold lettering! Gold lettering….so you know you’re getting it good. Hopefully. If you pulled out a deck of these, and a deck of regular bees, the old ones look a little lacking…Unfortunately your fans and giant fans don’t look any better :X

Pushover double : ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○

Personally, I find that you can slow down doubles on this deck and end up with a better lift. Pulling quick doubles however, might not be a good idea. I blame the thickness of the card.

-Its Bee branded card. This time in premium casino form. What are the pros of this deck…? You get a bee finished deck with white borders. Apparently White bordered bees are difficult to come across. Only matters really if you’re into magic. It says long lasting…I’ll trust that. Cons of the deck…? Not too pretty of a back design? Still wondering how much that really matters..Aside from that, the pricing may be more than you’re willing to spend, at least to get a good supply of these to use. Then again, there are other bee’s out there. Much others…
