Bee Casino Sam’s Town

Name: Bee Casino ‘Sam’s Town’
Date: 6.11.2009

Cost: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
It’s a used yet uncancelled deck from a Las Vegas Casino. Well, that probably means I got it off of eBay. 5$ for this one with shipping. I like it.

A little difficult to come across this exact casino. As for the same brand…. Bee cambric finish…on uncancelled casino decks….that’s a little difficult too, if you’re going for older stock of cards.

Sam's Town : No Bee Ace here, you get a Boyd Ace instead. Solid.

It’s Bee’s cambric finish. The good one. I’d imagine these were awesome at one point, but age kinda killed it for this deck. However, all the good qualities are there I guess. Good snap. Holds well. More durable than a bicycle deck. Fans wells. White borders? How about no borders but its white. Makes for (un)interesting fans and such.

Nothing bad here. Nothing exceptional either.

It’s no background, with the casino logo twice. Excellent. Simplicity is always a plus here. But then, there’s no borders. Might be confusing if you have selective amnesia like I do. What. Nothing…

Uhm. Boring. Hm. If you like blank fans and spreads like I do. Then this is indeed a good deck. Assuming you use the back. Because of the extra large “border”. Yup. As for the stock. I had to also revive this deck using fanning powder and now its awesome. Like some of the other decks.

-Sam’s Town. I used  to go there with my family when I lived in Las Vegas. What. I lived in Vegas…? Yea…that explains a lot. Sort of. This deck has some abnormalities. Aside from the usual ‘casino’ red. And the indifferent back design. It’s a gambling hall. The back design ,,,it says Gambling Hall! Like the indices on the 10 through K and Aces. As for the spot cards, theyre indented towards the center a bit much too. Check out those spreads. Scary. If I could travel back in time and make custom cards for myself, I’d use this stock. Maybe. Theres a few others I like more. But we haven’t got to them yet.

Hygrade Pan Set

Another random card from my stash.

Name: Hygrade Pan Set
Date: 6.6.2009

Cost: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
A Pan set picked up for about 6$ off of Ebay. Doubt you’d be able to find another one of these ever.

Hygrade : 4 Aces

One Star availability…haha. Pan sets aren’t usually easy to come by because…they’re not typical decks of playing cards. You get J,Q,K,A and like 2- through 6 to make 40 card packs. 8 Sets per box means, this set has… uhh. 640 cards?

Hygrade : Fanning Powder Spread

Life/Finish: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
Kinda hard to classify. When I picked it up, like all old casino cards, even if they’re new, if they’re opened they clump. Horribly. So I recently picked up fanning powder. And revived them… and now…they’re good for eye candy, but little else. A little of the soft side. Who knows what ‘finish’ they have. The dimples give an air cushion effect, but its like…missing the springyness of a bicycle card, but it still has some snap on the edges. None of this really matters though , .. Unless you come across another set.

Quite easy. Has more ‘plastic’ flow than a bicycle deck, which leans towards the ‘paper’ side.

Available in Red and Blue. I personally like it because it mimics the aristocrat deck that I don’t have yet. : X yay for fake aristocrats. Fake? Well, its good enough for me. Plus I have a whole stash worth, so I can use them for practice.

Not enough snap left to make it worthwhile. Still works, but barely.

-Really Random. Probably what is labeled a ‘one-shot’ back design. Who knows that that little insignia thing in the middle is. I don’t. But having a ‘practice’ card is always worthwhile. What else…The red on the faces isn’t like that bright bicycle red, its more typical to the dark ‘casino’ red. Pan set means 40 cards, so no 8, 9, or 10 spots for you : ( Well. All in all. I’d use these. At least more than some of the other decks I have.
