Bicycle Vintage “Fan Back”

Lazy Day.

Name: Bicycle Vintage (#2 Fan Back)
Date: 6.8.2009

Cost: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○
Typically in the 3-4$ range. The extra price you’re paying is for a back design that’s ’vintage’ and a generally higher quality card. And unavailable in retail stores.

1st (re)printing back in 2006. And then limited. Reserves should be dwindling as we speak.

More durable than your average bicycle. A little thicker too. Kinda closer towards bees. In a good way.

Better than average. Let’s rephrase that. Noticeably easy. I blame the strength of the card.

Vintage Fan Back. Special if you’re old or something. Or like using decks with a ‘vintage’ feel. Or like gambling moves and want to use a bicycle deck that isn’t rider back.(ie go watch the credits for the movie ’shade’. Gets + points for being available in red and blue. Not that I care about blue, but other people might.

Superflip: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○
Ah. After 20 posts, we repeat a move. I think. Maybe? I forget. Superflip holds well in consistency. At least…I find it easier. Theres enough snap and hold in the card to make this sleight worthwhile. But then…you’re bending the cards… and these decks aren’t something you’d use everyday. Unless you were CDO or something,,,which is like OCD, but all the letters are in the correct order.

-Well. it’s the 2006 bicycle branded card. Vintage edition. Printed in various backs. You get your standard bicycle pips and faces. With a old renewed Ace of Spades.  This happens to be #2 of many. Fan back. Because tallies also had a fan back. Tallys? Why do you keep mentioning tallys…what are they…Anyways. Once again. What retail bicycle decks should be. Quality controlled. And not papery bendable thin. Those are no good. Except for practice. But these are awesome. They get ultra bonus points for including blanks instead of poker rules. Which means uh…magic inclined.  But why practice with bad and perform with good. that’s called inconsistency. Hm. There has to be a cure for this somehow. Well that’s probably why I’m doing all these posts. Trying to locate a brand that I’ll stock up in bricks on…hm…..

Hygrade Pan Set

Another random card from my stash.

Name: Hygrade Pan Set
Date: 6.6.2009

Cost: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
A Pan set picked up for about 6$ off of Ebay. Doubt you’d be able to find another one of these ever.

Hygrade : 4 Aces

One Star availability…haha. Pan sets aren’t usually easy to come by because…they’re not typical decks of playing cards. You get J,Q,K,A and like 2- through 6 to make 40 card packs. 8 Sets per box means, this set has… uhh. 640 cards?

Hygrade : Fanning Powder Spread

Kinda hard to classify. When I picked it up, like all old casino cards, even if they’re new, if they’re opened they clump. Horribly. So I recently picked up fanning powder. And revived them… and now…they’re good for eye candy, but little else. A little of the soft side. Who knows what ‘finish’ they have. The dimples give an air cushion effect, but its like…missing the springyness of a bicycle card, but it still has some snap on the edges. None of this really matters though , .. Unless you come across another set.

Quite easy. Has more ‘plastic’ flow than a bicycle deck, which leans towards the ‘paper’ side.

Available in Red and Blue. I personally like it because it mimics the aristocrat deck that I don’t have yet. : X yay for fake aristocrats. Fake? Well, its good enough for me. Plus I have a whole stash worth, so I can use them for practice.

Hygrade : Modified Aristocrat?

Not enough snap left to make it worthwhile. Still works, but barely.

Hygrade : Another Card
Hygrade : Another Card

-Really Random. Probably what is labeled a ‘one-shot’ back design. Who knows that that little insignia thing in the middle is. I don’t. But having a ‘practice’ card is always worthwhile. What else…The red on the faces isn’t like that bright bicycle red, its more typical to the dark ‘casino’ red. Pan set means 40 cards, so no 8, 9, or 10 spots for you : ( Well. All in all. I’d use these. At least more than some of the other decks I have.
