So, Sundays are probably going to be some Vintage deck I have in my collection for the near future. Or at least until I run out.
So, these have been sitting in my collection for a few years. Do you know how tough it was to get these on eBay? I was able to pick these off in the 20-30$ range. You might see 1 or 2 of these on eBay in an entire year. Apparently a couple of these, sealed, sold on eBay for 300$ each earlier this year. Well, mine are open, which means you can have lots of pictures.
First, you’ll notice that the back design is bordered, which is pretty sweet for a vintage casino/hotel deck. Second, its not full bleed like Wynn decks(which have been depleted on eBay for red/blue it seems). Third, you have the hotel and its emblem. Pretty.
You get two jokers, which are the same. and a nice Ace of Spades. The serial number reads H 3909. So according to…http://www.leeasher.com/playground/articles/how_to_date_a_deck_of_cards.html , that puts this deck at 1966 probably. Probably not 1946(too early), and not 1986 since I don’t think the seal stamp style lasted that long.
Even the box themselves ooze vintage quality. Today’s kickstarters should pay attention to the design of this. I personally like it a lot.
This one I picked up came with a filler card, so we now know its Bee stock.
Anyways, these were pretty tough to spread and fan, so I took the 3rd deck and treated it to some powder.
Everyone loves white bordered casino cards, and they’re very sparse on eBay, at least ones in good condition. Sahara Tahoe, Caesar Palace, Carson City Nuggets, etc. Â I still need to get some Jerry’s Nuggets, but these are definitely rarer in the grand scheme of things.
I’ll be logging this into the personal stash page. Thanks for dropping by, and follow this blog if you haven’t already!
