Bee: Chinese New Year of the Goat (2014-2015)

Another Sunday, another thing in my collection.

Alright, so this deck doesn’t have too much information on it floating around online. From what I’ve gathered, it was released for use in a number of casinos for the Chinese New Celebration. Its got a goat design on it, which means they were used sometime earlier this year. However, the bottom of the box reads 2014 on it, so perhaps they were produced last year? and then released this year? I have no idea. The bottom of the box also reads KAPK design?

KAPK design?

Well, I scored this deck off of Ebay after talking with a seller, saying how they picked it up from a local casino. I checked two recent sales on Ebay, one was in southern California, and one was in Maryland. Its probably not a single casino.

Some thought went into the insides of the box.

Court cards have a bit of gold to them.

You get not 1, not 2, not 3, but FOUR jokers with this deck.

The back design seems to emulate those red envelopes of money that children usually get with the new year celebration. And for a Bee deck, its fitting that its a non-bordered deck.

Standard Bee faces. Full bleed red backs.

Seeing these pop up over on UC, I went ahead, did a bit of scavenger hunting, and was able to grab one off an Ebay seller who happened to have one more lying around after the previous sale. Score! Well, that was enough treasure hunting for a weekend.

Tune in next time for another mild installment of Kudos’ stash!
